The college football season is set to begin in a few months. The teams are currently going through their training camps to get ready for the upcoming season. Just like the NFL, there is no position in college football more important than the quarterback. While some of the best players recently turned pro, there is still plenty of talent left in the college game. These are the top four college football quarterbacks in 2021.

Spencer Rattler

Spencer Rattler quickly became one of the best quarterbacks in the nation during his redshirt freshman season at Oklahoma last year. An impressive season that saw him put up more than 3,000 yards makes him the front runner for the Heisman Trophy this year. Rattler made a few mistakes with his decision-making last year, but that should only improve as he gets more experience. He still possesses the most accurate arm in the sport.

Sam Howell

Sam Howell was the fourth-leading passer in college football last year. The top three finishers are all set to play in the NFL in 2021. Howell has a huge arm that lets him make any throw on the field. You will not see a better deep ball in college football. If he can continue improving his decision-making when facing pressure, Howell can turn the North Carolina Tar Heels into title contenders this season.

Michael Penix Jr

The Indiana Hoosiers were one of the biggest surprises in the sport in 2020. They came out of nowhere to finish the season as the 12th ranked team in the country. A big reason for this success was the outstanding play of quarterback Michael Penix Jr. He constantly made big plays despite playing behind the worst offensive line in college football. The only thing holding Penix back is his injury history.

Dillon Gabriel

Dillon Gabriel finished the 2020 season with the fourth-most passing touchdowns in college football. While most young quarterbacks struggle with their decision-making, Gabriel almost always makes the right read on the field. This opens the door for a lot of easy throws for big gains. It will be interesting to see how Gabriel performs with the new coaching staff at UCF this year.
